2023/2024 Greehouse Gas Emissions

With guidance and support from Opportune we are now monitoring our Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

In a world that is awash with sustainability claims, an increasingly dizzying array of certification schemes and greenwash, we want to be up front about our business carbon emissions. To this end, we make our full Carbon Footprint Audit for the last financial year publicly available.

Our total emissions for 2023/24 are 16.70 tCO2e. 15.47tCO2e or 92% of our total emissions are scope 3, primarily packaging and freight. Our challenge over the next 12 months is to set targets and work with our suppliers to reduce our scope 3 emissions.

We do not offset any of our Scope 1 or 2 emissions by buying carbon credits. Instead, we are excited to be working with Opportune to eventually devise a method to account for GHG emissions saved by utilising surplus bakery goods as our main raw material in the manufacture of ethanol.
